Eagles | Cochrane there to learn

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles PK E.J. Cochrane knows he will not win the team's place kicking job ahead of PK David Akers. He's with them to get an NFL education from Akers in the hope that it leads to a job elsewhere in the future. "This has been a great learning experience," Cochrane said earlier this week after a workout at the NovaCare Complex. "I'm learning from David Akers, one of the best kickers in the game. He's taught me a tremendous amount in just the three weeks I've been here." Cochrane, if he shows anything in these minicamps and in training camp at Lehigh, should get at least a few attempts to kick in the preseason. The Eagles have five exhibition games this summer, and special-teams coach John Harbaugh said he doesn't want to overwork Akers in training camp.
