Phillies | Nunez replaces Bell for Wednesday game

The Associated Press reports Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel replaced starting 3B David Bell with reserve 3B Abraham Nunez, who had just 42 at-bats coming in. He went 0-for-4 and saw his average drop to .196. Manuel said Nunez needs to see more pitches to be a sharper pinch hitter. "Pinch hitting is hard to do when you don't play much, but it's even harder if you don't play at all," Manuel said. Bell himself pinch-hit in the ninth inning and walked.
