Green Bay Packers RB Basil Mitchell will serve as Dorsey Levens' backup. The Rashaan Salaam signing is more for next year, he will not play this Sunday against Arizona. Next year is in doubt and more than likely will be put on the physically unable to perform list to start the season, meaning he cannot play in the first six regular season games. Wide Receiver Antonio Freeman has not practiced, he has the flu. Corey Bradford returned to practice on Wednesday after missing practice due to a death in his family. Defensive end Vaughn Booker (pneumonia), linebacker Anthony Davis (hamstring), right tackle Earl Dotson (back) and left tackle Ross Verba (knee) have not practiced. Keith McKenzie's days as a Packer appear to be coming to a close. He has rejected an offer that will pay him about $3 million a year. That would make him the highest paid non-starter in NFL history. He wants about $4 million a year and to be a starter. As it appears that Vaughn Booker would be unable to play Sunday, the team has said Cledius Hunt will start instead of Keith McKenzie. The Packers refuse to comment regarding that move.
