Eagles | Herremans leading at left guard

Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles OL Todd Herremans is the leading candidate to be the team's starting left guard in 2006. However, rookie OL Max Jean-Gilles is expected to push Herremans, once Jean-Gilles gains familiarity with the offense. OL Adrien Clarke also could figure in the mix. Herremans is making the switch from tackle to guard. He said he wasn't surprised to be switching. Last season, there was concern that Herremans didn't have prototypical long tackle arms. "It normally takes a bit of adjustment," head coach Andy Reid said, when asked about Herremans' move. "He's worked through it, he's gotten better every practice, and we look for some good things down the road."
