NFC Players Of The Week

The NFL has named St. Louis Rams RB Marshall Faulk, New Orleans Saints CB Fred Weary, and Minnesota Vikings KR Moe Williams as the NFC's Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the 16th week of the 1999 season. Faulk had an NFC season-high 258 yards from scrimmage, including 204 yards receiving on 12 receptions and a 48 yard TD in the Rams' 34-12 win over the Chicago Bears. His receiving yards were the most by a RB since Curtis McClinton had 213 for the Chiefs on December 19, 1965. Faulk also had 10 rushes for 54 yards. During the game, Faulk joined Roger Craig (1985) as the only players in NFL history with 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same year. He has 1,302 rushing yards and 1,021 receiving on 84 catches. Faulk leads the league with 2,323 scrimmage yards and needs 36 to break the NFL record set by Barry Sanders (2,358) in 1997. This is Faulk's fourth Player of the Week award and his second this season. Weary had a 22-yard interception return that set up a score and a 58-yard fumble return for the game-winning touchdown in the Saints' 31-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys. This is Weary's first Player of the Week award. Williams had one kickoff return for an 85-yard touchdown and added two special teams tackles in the Vikings' 34-17 win over the New York Giants. This is Williams' first Player of the Week Award.
