Seahawks | Warrick misses being “The Man”
The Associated Press reports Seattle Seahawks WR Peter Warrick thought he had a chance jump-start his lifeless career this offseason with the Seahawks, until the team signed WR Nate Burleson. Warrick said, "I don't have to be 'The Man'. It's just about when I get the opportunity." When asked how much he misses being "The Man," Warrick said, "I miss it a lot. At Florida State, Bobby Bowden, he really respected me. He gave me opportunities. We'd script 10 plays for a game at Florida State. Seven of them, I got the ball." Wide receivers coach Nolan Cromwell said he likes that Warrick has enough grasp of the playbook to play any three positions and considers him part of a three-string rotation for playing time at wide receiver. However, head coach Mike Holmgren added, "It's early. We have a pretty good group of wide receivers. We'll see how it sorts itself out." Warrick will likely be the team's punt returner, as Holmgren has declared the job as Warrick's to lose.
