Dolphins | Deja Vu - All Over Again
Jason Cole reports in the Miami Herald that Dolphins TE Troy Drayton realizes the importance of the team's off-season workouts and that he is striving to be one of the best TEs in the league. "It's just like going through growing pains," Drayton said of the off-season work, which includes the team's third quarterback school this Tuesday through Thursday. "You realize after awhile in this league that there's a lot that goes into getting the ball and playing well. You have to have a relationship with the quarterback where he knows that you'll be there. You have to have the confidence of the offensive coordinator. You have to know how you fit into the team's plans." TE coach Pat Jones feels that a combination of blocking and receiving skills can make Drayton the best TE in the league. The key though is him being healthy and able to practice on a regular basis with the team. If it all comes together, Jones envisions a great blocker who can catch 50 passes. Drayton has a more profound goal. "I have a chance to be one of the best. I'm not in this game to just be mediocre . . . I'm here to be the best," Drayton said.
