Rangers | Matthews stretches quad but should be back Friday

The Dallas Morning News reports Texas Rangers OF Gary Matthews Jr. (quad) said he stretched his right quadriceps muscle Wednesday, May 3, compensating for a sore ankle. He did not play May 4 but said he'd be ready for the May 5 contest. OF Adrian Brown played in center, and 2B Mark DeRosa led off.
