Hot off the Wire news, rumors and tips

Bills | Good Attendance

The Rochester Democrat-Chronicle reports that the Bills had a 96 percent turnout rate for their two-week voluntary pre-camp. "It's not voluntary," QB Doug Flutie chuckled as he walked off the field yesterday afternoon. "It's be here." As reported earlier, out of 81 players, the only veterans missing are Andre Reed, who is protesting his contract; Bruce Smith, who is golfing in the NFL Cadillac Classic; and Thurman Thomas, who has a personal commitment but has told coach Wade Phillips he'll be there next week. Flutie feels that from a QB point of view the team is ahead of last year as they are now refreshing themselves with their offense and not breaking in two new QBs like last year.
