Cowboys | Irvin Note

Randy Galloway had an interesting article in today's Fort Worth Star-Telegram regarding Dallas WR Michael Irvin. The highlights of the story included the fact that Irvin is hurting because his feelings have been hurt. Irvin is 33 years old and coming off an awful season. He will count $3.2 million against somebody's 1999 salary cap. Nobody wants Irvin as his trade value is near zero. The Cowboys might still want him, but that is questionable. Owner Jerry Jones, as reported earlier, did attempt to trade Irvin before the April draft. Irvin again let it be known that he wants the ball more and he wants to be rewarded for the many fine years he gave the team, when he, RB Emmitt Smith and QB Troy Aikman combined to lead a team that will always be ranked among the NFL's finest. Galloway feels that the team owes him for being one of the leaders of those teams but on the flip-side, Irvin has also caused his share of troubles for the team. They really owe each other plenty and Galloway feels Jones has some deep thinking to do on the situation.
