Cubs | J. Jones can't honor Puckett with initials on his cap's Carrie Muskat reports Chicago Cubs OF Jacque Jones has received a letter from Bob Watson, Major League Baseball's vice president of rules and on-field operations, stating he had to wear a clean cap during games and therefore couldn't write the initials "KP" on his hat as a tribute to Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett. Jones is upset about the decision. "I know the rule," said Jones, "but the guy means a lot to the game. He meant a lot to me." Players are not permitted to make individual alterations to hats or jerseys.
