NFL | Vote on postseason teams postponed
Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports the vote to expand the NFL playoff field by two teams has been postponed by NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue. The issue could come to a vote at the league's meeting in May. Chiefs president and general manager Carl Peterson said, "He wanted more time to focus on it and have the television people look at it because it certainly would have implications for TV whether it goes on the networks or the NFL Network." Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay said he believes the league does not support it, but wanted to spend time thinking of the television aspects of 14 teams. Tagliabue is also against the proposal.
