Buccaneers | Cindrich expects team to release Griese
Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports agent Ralph Cindrich expects the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to release QB Brian Griese Friday evening, March 10. Griese is scheduled to receive a $2.6 million roster bonus, which would give him a salary cap value of $7.083 million in 2006. The team would avoid paying Griese that roster bonus and free up approximately $4.5 million in salary cap space for 2006 by releasing Griese. The team could use the savings to re-sign RB Mike Alstott.
