Buccaneers | Alstott’s contract will not count against cap

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers FB Mike Alstott's contract will not count against the team's salary cap due to a clause that voids the final three years of the deal. Alstott would have counted $5.1 million against the team's salary cap. Latest figures have the Buccaneers at $15.7 million over the $94.5 million salary cap, but that does not include QB Chris Simms $2.1 million salary.
