Raiders | Walsh expected to be named offensive coordinator

Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports the Oakland Raiders are expected to name Tom Walsh offensive coordinator as soon as Tuesday, Feb. 14. Walsh coached with the Raiders during their entire stay in Los Angeles from 1982-94. He got fired along with head coach Art Shell after the 1994 season. The imminent move also sends a strong signal that Shell has autonomy to decide who he wants to fill the vacant positions on his staff. Walsh coached alongside Shell from 1983-89 and under Shell from the time Shell replaced Mike Shanahan as coach four games into the '89 season. Walsh handled several duties during his initial stint with the Raiders - quarterbacks, receivers and offensive coordinator.
