SportsTicker reports the Chiefs have officially announced Kurt Schottenheimer as their new defensive coordinator. "The players respect him and respond to him," head coach Gunther Cunningham said. "To me, that's one of the strengths that a coordinator has to have -- the demeanor in front of the group and the ability to handle people. Kurt has all those things."
