Lions | Team not as close as reported with Martz

Tom Kowalski, of mlive.com, reports the Detroit Lions are not as close to a new offensive coordinator as previously reported. Contrary to reports that former St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz will decide by Monday, Jan. 30, whether to take the Lions job, a source close to the situation said not only has Martz not been offered the job, but he has yet to have a formal interview with new Lions head coach Rod Marinelli. According to the same source, Marinelli is reviewing all the candidates and he is not close to making a decision. The list of candidates for the offensive coordinator job includes Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers coach Hue Jackson and former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Tom Rossley.
