Jets | Team interviews Fairchild

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports NFL sources have confirmed that St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild interviewed this week with New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini. It isn't known what position on Mangini's staff Fairchild interviewed for, but it is believed he is the next candidate who could become the Jets' offensive coordinator if current offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger is freed from the remaining two years on his contract and rejoins head coach Mike Shanahan with the Denver Broncos.
