NCAA | Derting to miss All Star games

The Tacoma News Tribune reports Washington State linebacker Will Derting (knee) is recovering from ligament replacement surgery and will be unable to play in any senior all-star games. Washington State head coach Bill Doba said Friday, Jan. 6, that Derting's status for the 2006 NFL Draft in April is in jeopardy. The minimum recovery time for such an injury is six months and many go longer than that. Doba said Derting will attend the NFL Scouting Combine in February to meet coaches and personnel directors, hoping to make a favorable impression.
