Browns | Crennel stands behind Carthon

Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel is standing behind offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon. Crennel said that when a play works it's a good call and when it doesn't it's not a good call. Crennel also said this week that he is not uncomfortable with the way Carthon has called plays, and he has no plans to bring in a new coordinator. The lack of audibles came to light after rookie QB Charlie Frye's first start against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was asked how much freedom he had to audible, and he said very little. Crennel had one of his direct answers when asked if he was concerned about the play-calling. "Nope," he said. Not at all? "Nope," he said.
