Saints | Berger criticizes Tagliabue
New Orleans Saints P Mitch Berger has criticized NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and the NFL Players Association for their handling of the team, according to TSN.ca. "Our team feels like the stepchild of the NFL," Berger told the Team 1040 in Vancouver. "Our union hasn't helped us; the league hasn't helped us. Nobody's done anything for us. They've just basically left us out here to die." Berger is disappointed that Tagliabue has not met with the players on the Saints, and said that most players want to spend the entire 2006 season in San Antonio so that their families can remain with them. "As far as we know, Paul Tagliabue wants to split everything up," Berger said. "He wants to do whatever is going to look good for him and the NFL." Berger also mentioned that no free agents will probably want to sign with the team because of their situation.
