Redskins | Gibbs softens stance on officials
Paul Woody, of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs softened his stance on comments he made Monday, Nov. 14, about the officials making mistakes during the Week 10 game. Gibbs said, "You get emotional, you get carried away with things and you say things that you wish you hadn't said." He went on to say, "I never feel like the referees cost you a game. You play your way out of a game. It's never one play, it's never one call. Everyone who was in that game, including me, that was making calls, could have won the game somehow. An official is never going to cost us a game, in my opinion."
