Mariners | Two Pitching Spots Remain

The AP reports the Seattle Mariners are down to two slots to fill for pitching before their lineup is set for 2003. The Seattle Mariners' decisions in spring training are down to two open jobs to be filled in the bullpen. With Gil Meche having nailed down the Mariners' No. 5 job in the rotation with six shutout innings against Texas on Wednesday, manager Bob Melvin and pitching coach Bryan Price will choose among rookie J.J. Putz, Ken Cloude, Julio Mateo and Rafael Soriano, all right-handers.
