Buccaneers | Police and Courts: Shepherd Strikes Officer
Stephen F. Holder and Jonathan Milton, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Edell Shepherd was arrested Sunday, Oct. 16, for striking an officer. Shepherd was taken into custody by Tampa police and is being charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and operating an unregistered vehicle, a misdemeanor from a previous, unrelated case. According to police, Shepherd and an unidentified man approached a pedestrian walking nearby "acting aggressively" outside of the stadium. A uniformed officer witnessed the incident and stepped in to prevent a possible fight. That was when Shepherd struck him "on the front of his body."
