Cardinals | Walker Misses Batting Practice
Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports that St. Louis Cardinals OF Larry Walker (neck) has had four cortisone shots this season for a herniated disk in his neck, timed to give him the best opportunity to make it through the playoffs. However, his neck is beginning to flare up again, after he took a spill over the rail chasing a foul ball in Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres, Walker did not take batting practice, but still hopes to play Saturday, Oct. 15, against the Houston Astros. Trainer Barry Weinberg also said the knee injury suffered by Walker last week was no longer an issue.
