Vikings | Tice Changes Routine
Kevin Seifert, of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice might relay the calls to QB Daunte Culpepper for the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints. When the Vikings offense struggled in 2002, Tice sent the offensive coordinator to the coach's booth and relayed the plays to Culpepper himself, giving him an opportunity to change plays he didn't like. Tice may place offensive coordinator Steve Loney in the coach's booth, quarterbacks coach Rich Olson would move to the sideline, and Loney would continue to call the offensive plays. Tice did acknowledge a change in their system for Week 3, but would not give specifics. "I think they'll be evident when the game starts," Tice said. "But they'll be very subtle."
