Jets | Coleman Injured, Undergoes Surgery

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets S Erik Coleman (thumb) suffered a dislocated fracture of his right thumb during Week 2 and underwent surgery Monday, Sept. 19, to repair the injury. Head coach Herman Edwards is uncertain whether Coleman will play in Week 3. "It's pain tolerance," Edwards said. "Once he comes in here tomorrow, we'll look at him, and Wednesday we'll make a decision." If Coleman were unable to play, S Oliver Celestin would start in his place.
