NFL | Police and Courts: R. North
The Associated Press reports former NFL WR Ramondo North, a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Super Bowl in 2003, was charged in federal court Wednesday, July 27, for his role in a bad check scam, prosecutors said. If the government wins its case, it will seek a court order forcing North to forfeit his Super Bowl ring to repay crime victims, U.S. Attorney Gretchen Shappert said in a prepared statement. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum sentence of 36 years in prison.
