Packers | Police and Courts: J. Curry
Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers S Julius Curry has been ordered to stand trial on accusations of bilking a woman out of $50,000 in a real estate transaction. Defense lawyer Anthony Chambers says Curry never intended to steal from Antoinette Richardson and offered to repay the money. Judge Walter Jakubowski of Warren's 37th District Court ruled there was enough evidence for Curry to stand trial. Curry has pleaded innocent to obtaining money under false pretenses over $20,000. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
