Packers | Police and Courts: J. Curry
The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers S Julius Curry was arraigned on charges of bilking a woman out of $50,000 in a real estate transaction. Curry pleaded innocent Wednesday, July 6, to one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $20,000. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $15,000 or three times the value of the property involved, whichever is greater. Anthony Chambers, Curry's attorney, said Warren police have been "insufficient and unreasonable" in their investigation. "We look forward to (Curry) being acquitted of all charges and will aggressively defend the case," he said.
