Buccaneers | Brackins Remains Limited
Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie WR Larry Brackins (hamstring) was still forced to skip all the on-field work during practice Wednesday, June 22, while he recovers from a hamstring injury. Brackins said he is confident the time off won't affect his chances of making the team, because he plans to be at full speed when training camp opens, but head coach Jon Gruden doesn't necessarily agree. "Yes, it hurts him,'' Gruden said of Brackins' absence from workouts. "You've got to practice. They might tell you different, but Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh - they're always hitting balls. And this kid, he's raw. He needs the work.'' Brackins has been studying the team's playbook while he is sidelined.
