Cowboys | Henson Working Long Hours with Lee

Rob Phillips, of, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Drew Henson has spent a lot of time working with quarterbacks coach David Lee during the offseason. Lee worked with Henson on raising his release by about a foot and eliminating the sidearm motion that can weaken a quarterback's power and accuracy. Henson's "dropwheel" release often resulted in batted down passes, but his new technique will allow him to get rid of the ball higher and quicker. "A sidearm guy gets so good (and) you can't get any better," Lee said. "Plus, the guys coming at you are taller, so you want it to come out at a higher point." Head coach Bill Parcells estimates Henson has thrown over 5,000 passes this offseason.
