Saints | Brown has to Catch up Now

Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports now that New Orleans Saints CB Fakhir Brown has reported to the team, he will need to work his way back to the top of the depth chart at cornerback. Brown has fallen behind CBs Jason Craft and Fred Thomas for the starting spot opposite CB Mike McKenzie. "It's still open," head coach Jim Haslett said. "He knows he has to battle for it. Jason Craft and Fred Thomas have done a nice job. He (Brown) won it fair and square last year and played for us. We'll see how it goes." Brown started the final 10 games of the 2004 season. "I know the starting job isn't mine any more," Brown said. "Just because I wasn't here doesn't mean the Saints don't go on. It's a tough decision that I made. I already knew I was going to have to work my way back up."
