Eagles | McMullen Working Hard for a Roster Spot

Rob Maaddi, of the Associated Press, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Billy McMullen is working hard to land a spot with the team. With WR Terrell Owens holding out of offseason minicamps and WR Freddie Mitchell gone, McMullen has a chance to prove himself in the team's current passing camp. "It's an opportunity. Whenever I get a chance in practice or in a preseason game, I have to make a play," McMullen said. "That builds your confidence and builds your teammates' confidence in you." McMullen has struggled to grasp the intricacies of the Eagles' version of the West Coast offense and has a tendency to drop balls when he gets passes. He needs to learn how to better utilize his size, be more consistent with his hands and more precise with his routes. McMullen will enter training camp competing with rookie WR Reggie Brown to be the team's fourth receiver.
