Jets | Henderson Receives Contract Extension
Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets and defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson have agreed on a three-year contract extension, according to an unnamed source with knowledge of the talks. Financial terms of the deal were unavailable. Henderson had been one of the NFL's lowest-paid coordinators. In 2004, which was Henderson's first year as coordinator, the Jets ranked seventh in the NFL in total defense, fourth in fewest points allowed (16.3 per game) and tied for fourth in takeaways (33).
