Titans | Transition Going Well for Chow
Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow's transition to the NFL is going well. Chow is still adjusting to a new way of life on and off the field in the NFL. He arrives at work early each morning and doesn't return to his hotel until late at night. Chow is on a mission of his own; to have the same level of success in the NFL as he did at USC. QB Steve McNair said, "Chow is a guy who all he wants is first downs, no matter how we get it — if it's a 5-yard pass, a 6-yard pass, a 7-yard run — that's what he's looking for.'' There will be more shifting at the line of scrimmage, which will force defenses to change calls quickly and, ideally, make mistakes more often. Then the Titans plan to capitalize on those mistakes. Chow also wants his offense to spend less time in the huddle. Head coach Jeff Fisher said the transition has gone even better than expected.
