Jets | Confident Jones will Progress, Secure RT Spot
Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets are optimistic second-year OT Adrian Jones will step in and become the team's starting right tackle this year. "One thing I've seen is that he's really not the type of player who gets rattled," line coach Doug Marrone said. "He rarely will make the same mistake twice. Through minicamp I was very satisfied with his development. I see a player getting better every day." Jones played tight end and eventually evolved into a left tackle during his senior year at Kansas, but is confident he can man the right tackle spot. "If you can do it at left tackle, you should be able to do it at right," Jones said. "There are changes in footwork, different aiming points, but you're still going to be an offensive lineman, no matter what side you're on."
