Titans | Mathews Continues to Ponder Retirement

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans OT Jason Mathews acknowledges that with the club investing three draft choices at the offensive tackle position this year, his future is uncertain and he could be forced to retire. ''I am in the 90 percent range of retiring and enjoying the rest of my life, but the cautious person in me wants to hold off for a little bit before making that total commitment,'' Mathews said. ''But if I really wanted to play this year it was going to be with somebody like the Titans, and I don't think with three draft picks, unless something changes dramatically, I don't think I am go to be with the Titans next year.'' Making matters worse, during the team's recent minicamp, rookie OT David Stewart wore Mathews' No. 76 jersey.
