Rockies | Barmes in Rare Rookie Company
The Associated Press reports Colorado Rockies rookie SS Clint Barmes finished April with a .410 batting average, making him just the third major league rookie in history to bat .400 or better through the end of April, with a minimum of 50 at-bats. The other two to achieve the feat were New York Yankees 2B Willie Randolph (1976) and Montreal Expos IF Andres Galarraga (1986).
