Cardinals | Isringhausen Hurt, Could Be Sidelined

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Joe Strauss is reporting St. Louis Cardinals CL Jason Isringhausen left the Tuesday, April 26 game with what team officials called a right abdominal strain. The injury apparently occurred on Isringhausen's walk of Milwaukee Brewers OF Chris Magruder before hitting full force on his first pitch to OF Brady Clark. Isringhausen pointed and felt his right side before being escorted off the field by trainer Barry Weinberg. Isringhausen will be re-examined April 27. Cardinals MAN Tony La Russa played down the possibility of immediately putting Isringhausen on the disabled list, saying the club would instead "buy some time for two or three days" before shutting down the closer for two weeks.
