Royals | Febles Signs, Could Coach

According to The Kansas City Star's Bob Dutton, the Kansas City Royals signed 2B Carlos Febles (knee) to a two-year, minor-league deal. Financial terms were not disclosed. Febles may miss all of the 2005 season due to a torn knee ligament, but the team may have other plans for him. "We signed him not only as a player but as a potential coach," Royals assistant general manager Muzzy Jackson said. "We wanted to get him back in the organization because we've always been impressed with his character."
