Jets | Edwards Issues Statement on Carter

New York Jets head coach Herman Edwards released a statement Tuesday, Feb. 8, regarding QB Quincy Carter, who is reportedly enrolled in a treatment center to deal with a setback in his drug rehabilitation and previously undisclosed diagnosis of bipolar disorder, reports NewYorkJets.com. "On behalf of the Jets organization, I would like to make a statement in support of Quincy Carter," Edwards said. "Some of the rumors surrounding this situation deal with personal and confidential matters that we cannot and should not discuss. Quincy's representatives assure us that Quincy is doing well. However, what we can say is that as a New York Jet, Quincy has done everything and more that was asked of him, he came to work early, stayed late, and exhibited good character the entire time…We appreciate and support Quincy as a member of the New York Jets organization."
