MLB | Oil Can Boyd Plotting Comeback
The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo reports former MLB SP Dennis Boyd, 45, is planning to make a comeback to baseball. He plans to pitch for the Independent League Brockton Rox this spring. Boyd last pitched in the majors in 1991 when he developed blood clots in his right shoulder that required injections of blood thinners into his stomach. And he feels he was blackballed by major league baseball because of his flamboyant style. "I'm throwing the ball as well as I ever have," Boyd said. "I probably throw 90 and I'm throwing all my pitches."
