NFL | Man Accused of Scamming NFL Players

Ben Nuckols, of the Associated Press, reports a 29-year old Maryland man is facing multiple charges of theft and identify theft after stealing or attempting to steal from NFL players QB Donovan McNabb (Eagles), DT Warren Sapp (Raiders) and retired CB Darrell Green (Redskins). Lewis Sills made phone calls and claimed to be a random NFL player while requesting money from those players. Sills was arrested after Sapp found the request suspicious and contacted his financial manager, who preceded to contact local authorities. In addition to the theft charges, Sills is also charged with resisting arrest and assaulting officers after a chase and struggle when he tried to retrieve wired money from Sapp.
