NFL | Lung Ailment Likely Cause of White's Death
Updating a previous report, NFL.com reports former NFL DE Reggie White might have died because of a respiratory disease called sarcoidosis combined with sleep apnea, according to a preliminary autopsy report. Sarcoidosis is a disease characterized by the presence of small areas of inflamed cells that can attack any organ of the body, but is most frequently found in the lungs. As previously reported, White passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, from what was originally diagnosed as a heart attack. He was 43.
