Patriots | Notre Dame Interested in Weis
Nick Cafardo and Mark Blaudschun, of the Boston Globe, report the University of Notre Dame has intensified their interest in New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis as school representatives met with him Friday, Dec. 10, to discuss their head coaching vacancy. An official involved in the hiring process said Notre Dame representatives had also met with Weis Tuesday, Dec. 7. Weis, who attended Notre Dame, has been the Patriots' offensive coordinator since 2000 and has wanted to become a head coach. A decision by the school could be made as early as next week.
