Patriots | Contingency Plan in Secondary Reaps Benefits in Week 12

Frank Tadych, of Patriots.com, reports the New England Patriots secondary has been decimated with injuries this year and were without CBs Ty Law (foot), Tyrone Poole (knee) and Asante Samuel (shoulder) for the Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens. So, the team shifted S Eugene Wilson to corner and inserted rookie S Dexter Reid as the starter at free safety. In addition, WR Troy Brown and CB Earthwind Moreland served as the nickel and dime backs. The result? Baltimore Ravens QB Kyle Boller completed just 15 of 35 passes for 93 yards and one interception in the game. "Those guys all had to take on different roles and we had to back them all up," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said citing the group defensive effort. "I thought they did a good job of managing it."
