Jets | Visit From Henderson Ignites Defense
Eric Allen, of NewYorkJets.com, reports with the New York Jets trailing the San Francisco 49ers by 14 points in the second quarter Sunday, Oct. 17, defensive coordinator Donnie Henderson left his spot in the press box and came onto the field to rally his defense. "I told [head coach Herman Edwards], 'I'm coming down,'" Henderson said. "As a coordinator, I can be up or down. I prefer to be up because I like to see things. I don't need to be angry on the sidelines. I don't need to be aggressive on the sidelines. I don't need to be emotional on the sidelines. You need to let your players play." After the speech, the Jets surrendered just 124 total yards in the final half and limited the 49ers to 20 percent (1 of 5) on third down conversions.
