MLB | Ray Boone Dies

The Associated Press reports former major leaguer Ray Boone died at the age of 81 early Sunday, Oct. 17, following a long illness. Boone, who played from 1948-60 with six teams, was the first of three generations to play in the big leagues. His son Bob Boone and grandsons Bret Boone and Aaron Boone enabled the family to become the first three-generation family in major league baseball. Prior to his passing, Boone had been hospitalized for six months due to complications from surgery. KFFL offers our condolences.
