Dodgers | More On Dreifort

Updating an ongoing story, The Los Angeles Daily News's Rich Hammond reports Los Angeles Dodgers RP Darren Dreifort (knee) will have his third consecutive season ended by knee surgery. Dreifort suffered a Grade 2 sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in the eighth inning of the Monday, Aug. 16 game and likely will go on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 18. Team doctors will wait two weeks until swelling goes down in the knee before determining whether to schedule surgery. If he has it, Dreifort's recovery time would be approximately six months and would push his recovery into spring training.
